Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates.
Min = $16.00
Mid = $18.40
Max = $20.80

Summary:

The Unit Support Representative partners with team members to meet the needs of the customer and the patient care areas, to ensure a positive experience for patients and visitors. The USR communicates clearly and effectively through established systems, concerning relevant information with customers and co-workers (verbally, non-verbally, and in writing). This role performs a variety of clerical tasks such as answering the phone and filing. The USR demonstrates sensitivity in dealing with the special needs of specific age groups (neonate, infant, toddler, child, adolescent, young adult and elderly), special circumstances and patient population with various disabilities. 


Responsibilities:

Answers phone calls, relaying messages, and redirecting calls as needed.

Checks in patients for admissions and creates medical charts and scans documents into patients’ charts.

Collects demographic information for birth certificates and verifying/entering data into the Electronic Birth Registration System (EBRS).

Maintains unit-specific logs and work queues for efficiency.

Verifies insurance eligibility and ensuring accuracy.

Updates Business Continuity Computers to ensure smooth operations.

Assists with stocking supplies and ordering nutrition for patients.

Manages visitor check-ins and assigning infant security bands, while monitoring the security system.

Performs other duties as assigned.
