Summary:
The Supervisor Revenue Integrity Charge Capture is responsible for overseeing charge capture processes to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant charging for hospital and professional services. This role serves as a subject matter expert for charge capture operations, charge reconciliation, revenue integrity initiatives, regulatory compliance, and revenue optimization. The position collaborates closely with clinical departments, Revenue Integrity, Information Technology (IT), Coding, Compliance, Revenue Cycle, and operational leadership to support accurate charge capture, documentation, and reimbursement.
Responsibilities:
Charge Capture Oversight: Lead and support charge capture activities for certain hospital departments and monitor charge reconciliation processes to ensure all services rendered are accurately captured and billed. Identify and resolve charge discrepancies, missing charges, duplicate charges, and charging workflow issues and develop charge capture best practices and process improvements.
Revenue Integrity and Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer billing regulations and conduct charge audits and validations to identify revenue leakage and compliance risks. Review documentation requirements to support charge capture accuracy and billing compliance and maintain knowledge of CMS and commercial payer billing guidelines. Partner closely with Revenue Integrity to reduce revenue leakage and collaborate with Coding, Compliance, and Clinical Operations to address audit findings and corrective action plans.
Systems and Technology Collaboration Work closely with Information Technology (IT), and operational departments to ensure charge capture systems function as designed. Validate and monitor charge-triggering workflows, interfaces, automation rules, and documentation processes within the electronic health record (EHR). Identify system gaps and collaborate with IT to develop solutions that improve charge accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Data Analysis and Reporting Analyze charge capture trends, reconciliation results, and denial data. Identify opportunities to improve charge capture accuracy, operational efficiency, and financial performance and present findings and recommendations to leadership and operational teams.
Education and Collaboration Provide education and guidance to providers, clinical staff, and department leaders regarding charge capture requirements and documentation expectations.
Develop training materials, policies, procedures, and job aids. Mentor Charge Capture Analysts and establish team goals, performance expectations, and productivity standards. Manage work assignments, schedules, project priorities, and departmental resources. Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new staff.

High School Equivalency Diploma and able to obtain CPC Certification within 18 months
Associates Degree Preferred
8+ years of related experience in a health care business, coding, charging, or clinical setting
