Summary:
The Social Media Specialist & Content Creator is responsible for developing and executing our multi-platform social media strategy, building an engaged online community, and producing high-quality visual content. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end creation of social-first video and photography while managing our internal production studio and occasionally creating video and photo content for broader company initiatives. You will ensure our brand voice, visual aesthetic, and messaging remain consistent across all touchpoints.
Responsibilities:
Research industry trends, consumer behaviors, emerging platforms, and tools to enhance social media presence. Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter).
Conceptualize, script, shoot, and edit compelling video content for social media and other purposes tailored to best practices. Manage end-to-end video production process from creative ideation to planning, filming, and post-production. Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external production partners on video projects as needed.
Continuously optimize content strategy based on data-driven insights to maximize engagement and reach. Monitor social media performance metrics and identify top-performing content types, formats, and trends. Analyze audience data and leverage insights to develop targeted content that resonates with key demographics.
Create and manage detailed content calendars for organic and paid social media campaigns aligned with strategic goals. Ensure brand voice, visuals, and messaging are consistent across all social media content and campaigns.
Monitor and engage with online communities, responding promptly to comments, messages, and inquiries. Capture photography as needed to support social media, marketing, and internal content needs.
Serve as the primary owner of the internal content studio, including managing shoot scheduling/logistics, maintaining and organizing equipment, and developing expertise in studio gear (cameras, lighting, audio, backdrops, etc.) to support consistent, high-quality production.
Responds to urgent operational, technical, or business needs during assigned on-call periods and takes appropriate action to resolve or escalate issues.
Performs other duties as assigned and/or requested.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
- 3+ years managing social media accounts for a brand, agency, or business (professional or strong freelance/personal brand experience considered).
- Demonstrated experience conceptualizing, filming, and editing short-form video content for social platforms.
- Experience with various cameras and filming equipment
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Davinci Resolve)
- Experience with basic photography and photo editing preferred.
