Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates.

Mid = $119,299.59
Max = $143,159.51

Summary:
The Principal Trainer serves as the subject matter expert and leader for Epic training strategy, curriculum development, and program execution. This role is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously optimizing role-based training programs that drive end-user competency, adoption, and workflow efficiency. The Principal Trainer maintains active involvement in end-user training delivery and go-live support, ensuring alignment between training strategy, system design, and real-world application.


Responsibilities:
Training Leadership & Delivery: Design, deliver, and oversee Epic training programs for providers, clinicians, and staff. Maintain direct engagement in classroom, virtual, and elbow-to-elbow training. Ensure standardized, high-quality training delivery across all trainers and departments. Apply adult learning principles to enhance engagement and retention.

Curriculum & Content Governance: Develop and maintain role-based training curricula aligned with Epic system and workflows. Own content governance, including version control and standardization. Incorporate system updates and user feedback into materials.

Program Optimization & Evaluation: Define and monitor training effectiveness metrics. Analyze trends and feedback to identify gaps. Drive continuous improvement aligned with organizational goals.

Training Environment Management: Build, test, and maintain training environments aligned with Epic build. Partner with analysts to ensure alignment between system and training.  Validate training scenarios for effective learning.

Go-Live & Support Leadership: Lead training readiness planning for go-lives and optimization efforts. Provide and coordinate at-the-elbow support. Develop and manage support models and staffing plans. Evaluate support effectiveness and improve future deployments.

Collaboration & Alignment: Collaborate with analysts, IT, and operational leaders. Serve as liaison between training and stakeholders.

Mentorship & Team Development: Establish and enforce training standards. Provide coaching and performance support.



Minimum Requirements: 

  • Associate’s degree 
  • 3-year experience in in curriculum development and training delivery
  • Epic certification in assigned application(s) required or able to obtain certification within 12 months of employment
  • Strong understanding of Epic workflows and system build.
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and drive improvement.
  • Excellent communication facilitation skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field
  • 5+ year experience in healthcare setting
  • Detailed understanding of workflows and system configuration
