Summary:
Pharmacy Buyer performs duties associated with the purchasing, billing and maintenance of the pharmaceutical inventory and supplies necessary for the provision of pharmaceutical care. Coordinates inventory control activities not limited to stocking, cycle counting, processing recalls, and monitoring all pharmaceuticals and pharmacy supplies. Promotes awareness of and compliance efforts for purchasing programs and regulatory requirements including GPO contract, 340B drug purchasing program and federal Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) regulations.
Responsibilities:
Purchases pharmaceuticals and supplies.
Inventory maintenance restocking, cycle counting, and processing returns/recalls.
Processes and files pharmaceutical invoices and purchase orders and other required records or documentation.
Updates pharmaceutical formulary within the pharmacy automation database.
Reconciling item quality, item quantity, pricing, or other discrepancies with order/invoices.
Other duties as assigned.
