Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates.

Mid = $26.19
Max = $31.43
Summary:
The OR Anesthesia Core Technician under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services and the Perioperative Logistics Coordinator works in a supportive role in the department to assist the team with quality patient care. The OR/Anesthesia Core Technician assists with case preparation, intraoperative supply and instrument support to the surgical team, and overall preparation of the department for next day’s surgeries.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates knowledge of surgical supplies and instruments. Utilizes proper techniques in care and handling of equipment and instrumentation.
Examines instruments for damage and checks for missing instruments and reports damage and/or missing instruments to appropriate supervisor.
Promotes efficiencies within the department by assisting with the opening of sterile trays or items as needed and under the direction of the surgical technologist and/or circulating nurse.
Acts as a liaison between the sterilization department and surgical services for all instrument needs and instrument issues. Proactively communicates when instruments and/or trays need prompt turnover for use later in the day. Real-time management of instrumentation issues within Surgical Services.
Assists in monitoring inventory levels related to surgical supplies, implants, and instruments.
Restocks extra supplies and instruments left over in the core areas.
Brings sterile instruments from SPD to the core areas and places them in correct locations. After surgical procedures, brings case carts to soiled elevator for delivery to SPD and communicates with SPD team appropriately.
Attends daily morning huddle with Surgical Services staff. Communicates stock-outs, back orders, and substitutions. Attends daily afternoon surgery leadership huddle. Communicates instrument status for cases occurring within the next 72 hours.

Education:
Essential:
* HS DIPLOMA/GED
Other information:
Required: High school diploma or GED
Required: 1+ year of instrumentation and/or core technician experience in a hospital setting.
