Summary:
The Epic Application Access and Revenue Manager is responsible for managing the implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of Epic applications that support patient access, registration, scheduling, billing, and revenue cycle workflows. This role leads a team of Epic-certified analysts and application specialists to ensure that systems function efficiently, align with organizational goals, and comply with regulatory standards. The manager works closely with Revenue Cycle, Patient Access, Finance, and Clinical Operations leadership to drive efficiency, optimize workflows, and support the organization’s financial health and patient experience goals
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Epic-certified analysts specializing in modules such as Cadence, Prelude, Grand Central, Resolute Professional Billing (PB), and Hospital Billing (HB). Oversee daily operations, project assignments, performance reviews, and staff development. Prioritize and allocate resources to meet project deadlines, system upgrades, and support needs. Ensure adherence to IT governance, change management, and quality assurance processes.
Application Management & Optimization: Manage build, configuration, testing, and maintenance of Epic Access and Revenue applications. Lead initiatives to streamline front-end (scheduling, registration, insurance verification) and back-end (billing, claims, payments) workflows. Oversee integration and data exchange between Epic and external systems (clearinghouses, payers, ERP systems, etc.). Ensure revenue cycle processes are compliant with industry regulations and organizational policies. Collaborate with Epic Technical Services (TS) and Application Coordinators to resolve complex system issues.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with operational leaders from Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, and Finance to align technology solutions with business needs. Participate in strategic planning and provide input on technology roadmaps and process improvement opportunities. Serve as a key liaison between IT, Revenue Cycle, and external Epic representatives. Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Monitor system performance, user feedback, and ticket resolution metrics. Provide regular updates and reports on project progress, system health, and performance metrics to leadership. Stay current with Epic’s software releases, best practices, and emerging healthcare IT trends.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare information technology, computer science, health administration, nursing, or a related field.
5 years related experience in healthcare IT, clinical informatics, or application management.
