Summary:
The project manager provides leadership for Information Technology projects based on organizational priorities. The incumbent will be responsible for managing complex projects at the enterprise level, including groups of interrelated and/or cross-functional projects to meet organizational strategic goals. Accountable for partnering with business owners to establish a project framework using standard methodology, tracking progress, mitigating risk, and controlling change to ensure delivery that meets time, cost, and quality objectives.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates a personal accountability for financial results through mindful execution of project budgets; engages staff in efforts to contain costs and improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of services; understands the basics of health care financial management; assists in establishing project budget targets, holds self and other individuals accountable for compliance with annual budget plan; identifies program or service growth opportunities and methodologies to enhance revenues. Manages IT capital and operating project budgets, aligning spending with multi-year IT roadmap and PMO portfolio management processes.
Demonstrates commitment for the good of the organization while maintaining congruence with commitment to IT best practices; recognizes and uses information about organizational climate and key individuals to accomplish legitimate organizational goals; remains aware of the importance of timing, politics and group processes in managing change; balances Information Technology needs with the hospital needs; works collaboratively with a variety of key stakeholders to achieve project goals.

identifies to supervisor if project has appropriate staff, facilities, space, and other resources needed to perform efficiently; helps establish performance standards with which to measure effectiveness and efficiency of services; ensures compliance with regulations governing hospitals and the rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring the organization's service delivery system and by initiating changes as required; manages customer relationships and communicates their needs and expectations clearly to staff; provides a sound system for resolving problems and learning from them; works with both internal and external customers in fulfilling the mission of the department and the institution.Assists in developing project portfolio structure, organizes timing, and maintains/updates/tracks all aspects of Information Technology projects. Contributes to PMO maturity by developing standardized project templates, capturing lessons learned, and enhancing IT project delivery practices.
Assists in planning and directing Information Technology projects, ensuring appropriate resources are scheduled and used to complete projects on time and on- or under-budget; assists in clarifying the role of project management to establish project management policies, guidelines, metrics, methodologies, and templates; establishes a repository of lessons learned and best practices.
Ensures all IT projects follow the PMO framework, including intake, prioritization, governance approvals, and post-implementation review. Monitors and mitigates IT-specific risks such as data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements throughout project delivery.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree
Preferred:
- 3+ years IT project management experience, with at least 2 years in a PMO or enterprise IT setting.
