Summary:
The Community Relations Events Specialist serves as coordinator for external special events, health fairs, speaker’s bureau and public relations activities to ensure strategic alignment with Onvida Health. This role will primarily focus efforts in South County but also provide support to other members of the Event Team. Fluent Spanish is required.
Primary Accountability
Oversees the planning, development and implementation of health and community outreach efforts. Effectively aligns Onvida Health outreach efforts with the organizational purpose. Meets with departments and marketing team to develop community outreach strategies and goals.
Coordinates events from start to finish. Implements logistics and appropriate supply orders; develops and monitors cost center budget and timelines; ensures appropriate staffing for events and motivates volunteers.
Educates community about Onvida Health in a positive manner through outreach programs, speaking engagements, interactions with board members, physicians, management, staff, patients, community, other healthcare professionals, government and regulatory agencies, media and outside vendors.
Works with design team to develop and implement effective communications (e.g. flyers, ads & press releases); Displays good proofreading and editing skills to ensure quality and accuracy.
Proactively develops community partnerships and initiates collaborative connections for and with leaders across the organization and community. Represents Onvida Health on a variety of community coalitions and projects. Identifies key needs and concerns and facilitate needed follow-up.
Provides support and partnership with event team, as needed.
Measures, tracks and reports effectiveness of outreach programs, speaking engagements and events.
