Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates.
Min = $62,613.88
Mid = $78,267.35
Max = $93,920.82

Summary:

The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator develops, implements and maintains emergency preparedness plans and procedures to ensure the organization is equipped to respond effectively to various emergencies and disasters. The Coordinator collaborates with internal departments, external agencies, and community partners to enhance preparedness, coordinate response efforts, and mitigate risks while promoting a culture of safety. 


Responsibilities:

Collaborates in the development, education, training, and implementation of disaster plans, policies, and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

 

Conducts an annual hazard vulnerability assessment (HVA) and 96-hour Sustainability Assessment to prioritize hazards, and identify resource capability shortfalls.

 

Conducts regular drills, exercises, and training sessions to assess and improve the facilities emergency response capabilities while documenting results in an after-action report. Participates as a member of the Incident Management Team during disasters, and exercises.

 

Participates in the organization’s Safety Committee for general administration in planning, coordinating, maintaining, and updating disaster plans, including internal and external event response. Provide necessary project management and support for all related emergency preparedness sub-committee.

Ensures the facility meets all standards related to emergency management criteria required by the regulatory body, any local, state, and federal agencies, as well as appropriate agencies having jurisdictional authority.

Develops relationships and collaborate with partners/ stakeholders, both internal and external to the organization, such as: other local hospital disaster coordinators, the area healthcare coalition, and emergency medical services, public health, fire, and law enforcement agencies.

Maintains inventory of emergency supplies, equipment, and resources, and ensure that they are readily accessible in the event of an emergency.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of System Safety and Emergency Preparedness. 


Education:
Essential:

Bachelor’s degree

3 years of experience in healthcare-related field to include life safety, safety management, hazardous materials, and emergency preparedness.

Completion of Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 700, and 800 within 1 year from date of hire
