Max = $70.28

Summary:

The Charge Nurse Inpatient assists the Director in planning, organizing, directing and controlling all activities of the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU); Maintains responsibility for directing and supervising daily operations; In addition to possessing clinical knowledge, must have strong administrative skills in order to plan, directs and coordinate the delivery of patient care through all phases of surgical care; Oversees the PACU; Improves workflow efficiency. 


Responsibilities:
Trains and recruits employees; Monitors and evaluates ongoing staff performance; Participates in ongoing coaching, training and goal setting for the performance development program. Ensures operational productivity by managing daily staffing resources and assignments; Manages timekeeping / scheduling systems; Leads huddles to ensure staff has adequate knowledge of patients, plan for the day, hospital wide information and provides staff recognition when applicable. Works with Materials Management to maintain inventory and supplies as well as coordinate with vendors to ensure availability of all resources required for patient care. Works closely with administration and senior management to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies; Influences others to follow hospital policies and procedures and unit protocols; Interprets these to other staff members, including their legal implications based on the regulations that govern practice. Assures quality patient care and a positive work environment. Serves as a resource to all staff in the unit. Provides leadership and direction in accordance with the hospital’s guidelines and consistent with organizational goals and objectives. Provides patient care appropriate to age and condition of patient; Serves as a role model, mentor and assisting with unit workload as needed. Other duties as assigned.


Credentials:
Essential:
* ADVANCED CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT (ACLS)
* PEDIATRIC ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (PALS)
* REGISTERED NURSE (RN)
* BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS)

Education:
Essential:
* ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE

Other information:

REQUIRED: 3+ years related experience
