Summary:
The Administrative Director is primarily accountable for the planning, implementation and operation of the Patient Financial Services and Patient Access departments within the scope of service areas assigned in order to meet the needs of the organization goals. Provides leadership and expertise in the management of these department. Maintains accountability for human resource management, financial management, and quality management for the department and programs within incumbent's responsibility in support of the mission, vision and strategic objectives of YRMC.
Responsibilities:
Fiscal and Operation Performance: develop and drive a program in cooperation with the VP Revenue Cycle which routinely monitors performance per volumes, referrals and trends. Responsible for financial results through managing performance based upon a financial and operational plan driven by budget, target, and organization goals. Engage staff in efforts to contain costs and improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of services. He/she is vested with the authority to make discretionary decisions when circumstances occur that are not covered by written instructions or known policies and procedures. ; Acting as a liaison between the employees and upper management when it comes to financial and administrative issues. Actively participate in the development, planning and operations for departments within the roles scope. Provides guidance for billing and collection management to resolve internal and external issues. Routinely conducts payer trend analysis, focusing on initial denials and underpayments, to ensure optimal claims processing and reimbursement.
Quality: Quality and Service Excellence initiatives, process improvement, and staffing. Responsible for ensuring continual efficient and compliant operational performance of department/division and all related areas. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements i.e.: Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS); Develop quality/performance improvement programs, instructing staff and implementing new and improved standards. Making changes to increase efficiency in the workplace; Implements a rigorous quality program to ensure optimum customer service. Ensures all compliance related forms and processes are completed timely and accurately.
Delegating tasks to Director, Managers/Supervisors and monitoring daily operation; Acting as a liaison between the employees and upper management when it comes to financial and administrative issues maintain deep understanding of key processes within the departments of responsibility and constantly evaluate opportunities for improvement. Ensure standardization of processes, regardless of patient accounting system. Maintains awareness of third-party payer and governmental regulations and requirements as well as company policies and procedures to ensure billing compliance and timeliness of collections. Proactively implement operational changes
Service Delivery: Drive Director, Managers and Supervisors to shape our patient experience via optimized service delivery for our patients and physicians. Improve and report on registration metrics including check-in wait times, point-of-service collections and estimates completed, financial counseling screening and verification, patient satisfaction, and registration work queues. Responsible to maintain good customer relationships and improve the company’s services delivered to maintain customer satisfaction. Working closely with patient experience to help drive process improvements with leader’s scope of responsibility.
Planning/Vision Provides vision, forward thinking and strategic planning in a proactive manner while being open-minded and creative in establishing a strategic direction; develops through an integration of ideas of those involved, an organized strategy to achieve both short and long term objectives for the department; effectively communicate strategy to subordinates to obtain commitment by the responsible individuals leadership as well as physicians to identify and evaluate programs and emerging technologies.

Management development: Develops others through setting clear expectations, mentoring and coaching, and holding others accountable for results; Utilizing work force analysis, identifies required competencies needed for effective management of human resources and is able to identify short and long-term staffing needs; conducts oneself in an honest, credible, trustworthy manner consistent with YRMC's values; demonstrates an integration of values, beliefs, attitudes and behaviors through an acceptance of responsibility and accountability for individual's own actions; ensures that the work force has the necessary skills to accomplish the work required to achieve the objectives of the department; partners with Human Resources to develop long-term human resource plans, anticipating future needs and developing employees able to meet those challenges; fosters an open working environment for easy access to express ideas and concerns; demonstrates and expects open communications; promotes an environment that is open and collaborative while keeping the team focused on a common goal; builds rapport, encourages teamwork, creates an environment where employees may feel empowered.
Community Outreach: Leverages the unique system capabilities (hospital, ambulatory, community providers) to increase value for external and internal customers and eliminate barriers to care; participates in community involvement; champions community involvement in the department and throughout the organization; promotes and encourage community involvement throughout the department; incorporates community goals in overall departmental goals; demonstrates involvement in community events and hospital partnerships; maintains appropriate continued education as it relates to the role. Other duties as assigned.

Required- High school or equivalent; Minimum of ten (10) years managerial experience in the Revenue Cycle space, including but not limited to Patient Access and Patient financial services.
Preferred- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or similar field.
